Creating and linking your stripe account

Account settings

Now your MakerSwap account is created, if you want to hire out your tools and get paid we need to know how to pay you. We use Stripe for payments and charging so to get paid you need to set up a stripe account. You can do this by going to the "Payout details" tab in the "Account Settings" Menu.

This is accessible in the drop down under the circle at the top right that will have either your initials or your picture if you loaded one.

Payout details

Enter if you are an individual or a business, your country and this will enable the "save details" button. pressing this button will enable the stripe account verification box in the next section.

Get Verified

Now you have entered the account type and country you have to go to stripe to get verified. This needs to be completed to save these details - So click the Get verified button in the yellow stripe box to go to stripe and enter your account details.

You will need to complete the stripe setup before you are allowed to list a tool, if you don't fill in these details in advance you will be required to enter them at the final step of listing a tool. Your item cannot be published to the site without the stripe account connected to your MakerSwap account.

Setting up Stripe

If you have an existing stripe account you will be able to enter the email associated with it in this screen and link it to your MakerSwap account, If not you will need to create one using your mobile number. Enter your number here and press submit to be sent a 6 digit code for the next stage.

Enter the Verification Code

On this screen enter the code you received form stripe in the last step - The screen will advance to the next stage

Enter your details

This screen you need to enter some key details for stripe to identify you, Your legal name, Email address, DOB and Home address, This screen will also show your mobile number as it was entered earlier. These details will need to match the account you enter in the next stage.

Add bank details

Here you need to fill in the details of the bank account you wish to be paid to for any rentals that occur, the currency needs to be correct for the account, and the sort code and account number need to be added.

Review and Confirm

Finally stripe will display all the information entered for you to check over and validate.

Should you need to update anything you can click the edit links on any of the sections to return to that section.

If you are happy hit confirm, Stripe will finish setting the account up and send you back to MakerSwap where you left.

Stripe successfully connected

Now on the Payout Details section of the account settings section you will see an obscured bank account number with only the last 4 digits displayed and a green box saying "Your Stripe account is up to date!"

Should you need to update these details you can click the "Edit Stripe account" link to go back into stripe and update.
