Choose a user type

First select a user type, you can be a "Tool Owner" - someone who intends to rent out their tools, or a "Tool Borrower", who only intends to hire from other people. A "Tool Owner can both list items they wish to rent out in return for money and rent items from other people.

If you ever intend to list items for hire select "Tool Owner" at this stage. The only real difference is that a tool owner has to provide a phone number, that isn't visible publicly, and can list tools.

Create account details

Once user type is selected you will be presented with some extra fields to fill out in order to create your account. You can still change the account type at this point if you wish.

Fill in the requested information, Accept the terms and policies and hit "Sign up"

Email Verification

Once all the information has been provided you will be logged in and presented with a request to verify the provided email address. If you made a mistake in typing your email you can correct it with the "Fix it" link otherwise go to your email and find the message. If you close this panel you will be taken to your profile page.

You should have received an email like this one - Click on the button or the link - This is only valid for 48 hours so make sure you validate in time. If you are still logged in you will be taken to the landing page - If you are not you will be asked to log in first.

Account settings - Email verified

If you now log into your MakerSwap account you will see that your email is verified! If ther was a problem or you waited more that 48 hours you will be able to re send the verification email from here. Next up before we list a tool - we need to create a stripe account so we can get paid!
